Command Sergeant Major Kent S. Bellot is the 11th State Command Sergeant Major of the Virgin Island National Guard (VING). CSM Bellot was chosen to help provide a Ready, Relevant, and Responsive Joint Force in defense of the nation and to respond to acts of nature, man-made disasters, civil disturbances, and other territorial contingencies. He serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Adjutant General. CSM Bellot is a part of a Command Team responsible for leading, training, equipping, and developing Virgin Islands National Guard’s Soldiers, Airmen, and Civilians, while providing care for their Families.
CSM Bellot entered the Army on June 29, 1988 and completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Upon graduation, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry “Let’s Go” Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg North Carolina. While assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, CSM Bellot was deployed to the Middle East in 1990 for the 1st Persian Gulf War. On Jun 30, 1992, he ETS out the US Army and joined the VING and was assigned to 786th Headquarters Company. In 1994, CSM Bellot was transferred to the Virgin Islands Military Academy (VIMA), currently known as the 210th Regional Training Institute (RTI). In August 2011, CSM Bellot was transferred to the 104th Troop Command (VING)

CSM Bellot’s military education includes the Nominative Leader Course, the United States Army Sergeants Academy, Advance Noncommissioned Officer Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Airborne School, Unit Armorer Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Battle Focus Instructor Training Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course Property Book Accounting & BN Supply Course, and Equal Opportunity Leader Course. CSM Bellot civilian education include a Bachelor of Science from Excelsior College and an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Science and Administration.
CSM Bellot’s overseas deployments for include Operation Enduring Freedom to JTF-GTMO, Cuba; Defense of Saudi Arabia, and Defense and Liberation of Kuwait.
